Job Summary:
- This job assists in procedures competently and professionally, ensures appropriate handling and maintenance of equipment and supplies, and ensures availability of equipment and supplies for surgical procedures.
- Scrubs for surgical procedures and performs other duties as assigned by the registered nurse (RN).
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs direct patient care duties, including assisting physicians during procedures.
- Assists in the day-to-day operations of the department.
- Maintains required clinical knowledge, technical skills, equipment, training, and credentials.
- Adapts to change in a positive constructive manner.
- Ensures cleanliness and/disinfection of Endo Products while maintaining quality control measures.
- Performs other related duties as required.

Education Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent and graduate from an accepted course in surgical technology certification.
Experience:
- Required – 2 years experience.
Certifications:
- Required – Certification in Surgical Technology.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Good organizational skills.
- Good time management skills and ability to be self directed.
- Ability to demonstrate good judgement.
Physical and Environmental Demands:
- The physical essential functions of this job include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Frequently exerting 10 to 20 pounds of force to move objects; occasionally exerting up to 100 pounds of force.
- Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for sedentary work.

- Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue.
- The incumbent works in a patient care area; works in an area where patients enter; works directly with patients; and/or works with specimens that could contain communicable diseases.

- Because the incumbent works within a healthcare setting, there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning and/or disposal of contaminated waste.
