Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides individualized direct patient care by performing a variety of sonographic procedures, including electrocardiograms, stress tests, 2D/M-Mode echocardiograms, Doppler and Color Flow imaging, Exercise Stress Echo, and Dobutamine Stress Echo.
- Compiles patient history and diagnostic data, presents preliminary sonographic findings, and collaborates with physicians.
- Ensures high-quality patient care and maintains positive working relationships with the healthcare team.
- Performs procedures safely, documents appropriately, prepares work areas, and supports patient education.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Required Certifications & Licensure:
- Active RDCS registry through ARDMS, or RCS credential.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of cardiac ultrasound experience.
- General knowledge of cardiac anatomy, Doppler physics, and hemodynamics.
- Ability to preliminarily identify stenosis or occlusion per national criteria.
- Ability to assist physicians with procedures requiring ultrasound guidance.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with computers and web-based applications.
- Ability to work calmly under pressure and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Flexibility with shifts, including possible nights, evenings, weekends, holidays, or extended shifts.
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
