Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides individualized direct patient care by performing a variety of sonographic procedures, including electrocardiograms, stress tests, 2D/M-Mode echocardiograms, Doppler and Color Flow imaging, Exercise Stress Echo, and Dobutamine Stress Echo.
  • Compiles patient history and diagnostic data, presents preliminary sonographic findings, and collaborates with physicians.
  • Ensures high-quality patient care and maintains positive working relationships with the healthcare team.
  • Performs procedures safely, documents appropriately, prepares work areas, and supports patient education.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Required Certifications & Licensure:

  • Active RDCS registry through ARDMS, or RCS credential.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of cardiac ultrasound experience.
  • General knowledge of cardiac anatomy, Doppler physics, and hemodynamics.
  • Ability to preliminarily identify stenosis or occlusion per national criteria.
  • Ability to assist physicians with procedures requiring ultrasound guidance.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computers and web-based applications.
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure and maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Flexibility with shifts, including possible nights, evenings, weekends, holidays, or extended shifts.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
