Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide respiratory care for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients under physician direction.
  • Perform patient assessments and develop respiratory care plans.
  • Respond to Code Blue and Code White emergencies.
  • Manage airways, including suctioning and airway device placement and maintenance.
  • Administer aerosolized medications.
  • Set up, monitor, and manage ventilators.
  • Manage BiPAP, CPAP, and oxygen therapy devices.
  • Perform oral hygiene and therapeutic monitoring.
  • Analyze chest X-rays, EKGs, and arterial blood gases.
  • Complete accurate clinical documentation.
  • Clean and stock respiratory therapy equipment and supplies.
  • Participate in CAP and Joint Commission surveys.
  • May serve as Shift Leader or Team Leader.
  • Perform advanced respiratory procedures including INO/Heliox therapy, pulmonary function testing, bronchoscopy assistance, hemodynamic monitoring, waveform analysis, nocturnal SpO2 studies, polysomnography, and patient transport as needed.

Requirements:

  • 1+ year of Respiratory Therapy experience (1–3 years preferred).
  • Active RT or RCP License in the state of employment.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through NBRC.
  • BLS certification through AHA.
  • Experience caring for adult patients.
    Ability to work every other weekend.
    No on-call requirement.

Preferences:

  • Critical care respiratory therapy experience.
  • Leadership experience as Shift Leader or Team Leader.
  • Experience with advanced respiratory procedures and patient transport.
