Job Description

Job Summary:

  • Performs general radiographic studies to established QA criteria.
  • Produces radiographs and organizes images, completes required paperwork and charges.
  • Responsible for patient safety and well-being during examinations.
  • Assists and instructs patients during examinations.
  • Assists with clerical and other duties as assigned.
  • Reports all equipment malfunctions.
  • Cleans and inspects equipment prior to use.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs radiographic examinations in accordance to established protocols.
  • Assists and instructs patients prior and during examinations.
  • Responsible for evaluating each study to ensure it meets required quality standards.
  • Responsible for patient safety and well-being during examinations.
  • Responsible for inspecting and cleaning equipment prior to use.
  • Reports to supervisor equipment failures and/or malfunctions.
  • Reports all patient complaints, discrepancies and drug reactions according to QA policies.
  • Responsible for producing images, burning CD and occasional film printing, organizing paperwork and completing requisition data.
  • Seeks out during down time, work in other areas of department throughout the day, such as: front desk duties, rooming patients, or assisting with other duties as needed, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Graduate of an AMA approved radiology course.

Licensure:

  • California Certified Radiologic technologist (CRT) required, ARRT required. Current AHA or equivalent healthcare provider BLS Certification required.

Experience:

  • New graduate eligible but prefer one year of experience in general radiology.

Skills:

  • Basic clerical and computer experience.
