Job Description

Job Summary:

  • The MRI Technologist II performs a variety of MRI procedures using high-field-strength magnets and related equipment to produce quality diagnostic images.
  • The technologist works under the guidance of radiologists and ensures proper patient preparation, positioning, safety, scanning protocols, and image quality.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform MRI procedures using appropriate scanning techniques and protocols.
  • Obtain high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.
  • Prepare, screen, position, and safely transfer patients for MRI exams.
  • Maintain current knowledge of MRI scanning protocols.
  • Troubleshoot and report equipment issues when necessary.
  • Operate ancillary equipment, including PACS, MedRad power injector, and In Vivo monitor.
  • Maintain required documentation and billing paperwork.

Required Certifications:

  • AHA BLS.
  • ARRT – MRI (MR) OR ARMRIT.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of directly related/progressive experience.
  • Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI program.
  • Strong knowledge of MRI physics, anatomy, physiology, techniques, and safety.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and document equipment issues.
