Job Description

Job Summary:

• The Surgical Technologist I assists the surgical team during operative procedures under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• This role ensures the operating room is safe, properly equipped, and prepared for surgical procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Prepare the operating room, instruments, and supplies for scheduled procedures.
• Maintain sterile fields and follow aseptic techniques.
• Perform surgical counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments.
• Assist with patient positioning, draping, and surgical procedures.
• Anticipate the needs of surgeons and assist the surgical team during procedures.
• Handle surgical specimens according to established protocols.
• Assist with surgical dressings and post-procedure cleanup.
• Ensure proper cleaning, decontamination, sterilization, and maintenance of instruments.
• Follow infection control policies, AORN guidelines, OSHA standards, and other regulatory requirements.

Required Skills:

• Minimum 2 years of surgical technologist experience.
• Neuro, Robotics, and Client experience required.
• BLS certification (AHA only).
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification.
