Job Description
Job Summary:
- Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests on blood, urine, and other patient specimens.
- Collect, process, label, and prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
- Ensure accuracy of test results through quality control and quality assurance procedures.
- Maintain compliance with,CLIA, CAP, OSHA, and Client laboratory policies.
- Document and report laboratory findings accurately and promptly.
- Follow infection prevention, safety, and specimen handling protocols.
- Support laboratory operations in Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Blood Bank, and related departments as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 1 year General Clinical Technician experience.
- GENERAL CLINICAL TECHNICIAN EXPERIENCE
- Valid Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) Certification issued by the Client Primary Source Verification required.
- Minimum 1 year of General Clinical Technician / Clinical Laboratory experience.
- Experience performing laboratory testing, specimen processing, quality control, and maintaining laboratory standards.
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification:
- Experience working in an acute care hospital, public health system, or high-volume laboratory environment.
- Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and electronic medical records (EMR).
- Strong understanding of laboratory safety, infection control, and regulatory compliance (CLIA, CAP, Joint Commission).
- Candidate Persona (background, behaviors).
- Licensed Clinical Laboratory Technician with recent hands-on laboratory experience.
- Detail-oriented and highly accurate when handling specimens and documenting results.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment with competing priorities.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with laboratory staff, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Reliable, professional, and committed to patient safety and quality standards.
Certifications Licensure & Languages:
- Valid certification as a Clinical Laboratory Technician issued by Client, Primary Source verification required.
- BLS preferred.
- English (Read, Write, Speak)
