Surgery Tech (Travel)

Job Description

Job Summary:

• The Surgical Technologist assists surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists during surgical procedures by preparing and maintaining the sterile field, anticipating surgical needs, and ensuring all required instruments and equipment are available.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Set up and maintain the sterile surgical field.
• Prepare, organize, and pass surgical instruments and supplies to the surgeon.
• Anticipate surgical team needs and ensure required equipment is readily available.
• Assemble, transport, retrieve, and account for surgical equipment.
• Monitor and maintain appropriate surgical equipment and supplies.
• Inspect, decontaminate, maintain, and assist with repair of surgical equipment.
• Maintain accurate equipment and inventory records.
• Assist with pre- and post-operative patient care, including transportation, shaving, and dressing application.
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists, and other OR staff.

Facility Requirements:

• NBSTSA certification required – must be attached to submission.
• BLS certification required through American Heart Association (AHA) – must be attached to submission.
• 3 years of recent Surgical Technologist experience in a hospital setting required.
