Job Summary:
- The Health Services Dental Hygienist position under general and/or direct supervision, performs dental hygiene work of average difficulty and related tasks as required.
- This classification involves delivering preventive care services, implementing and managing dental health education, instructing patients on proper oral hygiene, and maintaining compliance with state, federal, and organizational guidelines.
- The role requires physical activity, resource management, effective communication and collaboration with various stakeholders.
- Duties may involve chair side activities in public health facilities or other community settings.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide preventive dental services within Cliented populations including dental screenings, sealants, Silver Diamine Fluoride and fluoride applications, oral health education, and other clinical services within the Product of practice of a registered dental hygienist in Tennessee.
- Complies with State and Federal guidelines to ensure compliance with standards.
- Maintain accurate records of dental screenings, services, and preventive measures.
- Maintain sterilization and infection control standards for equipment and supplies.
- Provides clinical dental hygiene services and instructs patients in oral hygiene techniques.
- Collects information from patient records to determine specific treatment needs.
- Collaborate and provide updates and reports to necessary stakeholders to ensure smooth project implementation.
- Communicate project status, challenges, and improvements with internal stakeholders.
- Maintain and ensure the functionality of dental equipment and supplies to ensure resources are effectively monitored and managed to avoid service interruptions.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Candidate must be a Tennessee state resident.
- All new contractors must be Tennessee residents.
- Contractors relocating to Tennessee must establish residency prior to their start date.
Licensure & Certifications:
- Registered Dental Hygienist license in Tennessee.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Experience providing dental screenings, sealants, Silver Diamine Fluoride, fluoride applications, and oral health education.
- Knowledge of sterilization and infection control standards.
- Ability to maintain accurate patient and service records.
- Ability to provide clinical dental hygiene services and instruct patients in oral hygiene techniques.
- Effective communication and collaboration with various stakeholders.
