MRI Technologist

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services to adult and pediatric patients under the supervision of a mentor/preceptor.
• Prepare patients for procedures and review clinical history aProductst physician-ordered procedures.
• Operate specialized MRI/radiologic equipment and perform diagnostic procedures according to established protocols.
• Provide safe, high-quality, patient-centered care in acute inpatient, outpatient, diagnostic, urgent care, and outreach settings.
• Communicate and collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Complete post-procedure reviews, documentation, image transfers, and technical data entry.
• Perform equipment quality control, cleaning, disinfection, and user maintenance according to manufacturer and regulatory guidelines.
• Participate in continuing education, professional development, and research activities.

Requirements:

• Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited educational program in Radiologic Technology, or a CAAHEP-accredited program with emphasis in a primary cardiovascular specialty.
• Must meet eligibility requirements for MRI certification and obtain certification within 12 months of hire.
• AHA BLS certification required.
• Knowledge of medical imaging, radiologic technology, medical terminology, patient positioning, anatomy and physiology, and medical ethics.
• Ability to perform, post-process, analyze, and annotate study data with general supervision.
• Strong communication, teamwork, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Ability to multitask, remain calm under pressure, exercise sound judgment, and maintain confidentiality.
• Must be dependable and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Pediatric experience required.

Preferences:

• Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
• Philips experience preferred.
