MRI Technologist I

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform MRI procedures using high-field-strength magnets and related equipment.
• Obtain quality diagnostic images using appropriate technical factors, scanning techniques, and current protocols.
• Evaluate MRI scans for technical quality.
• Prepare and position patients for MRI exams and explain procedures.
• Ensure MRI screening forms are properly completed and safely transfer patients.
• Complete examinations within required timeframes.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and report problems for repair.
• Operate ancillary equipment including PACS, MedRad power injector, and In Vivo monitor.
• Assist with onboarding/training of radiology students, house staff, and others on MRI procedures, protocols, equipment, and safety.
• Bill procedures performed and maintain required documentation.

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of progressive, directly related work experience.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI program.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification.
• ARRT Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) certification or ARMRIT certification.
• Knowledge of MRI physics, physiology, anatomy, cross-sectional anatomy, techniques, methods, equipment, and image processing.
