Job Description
Job Summary:
- The MRI Technologist performs high-quality MRI procedures for both ambulatory and hospital patients according to established protocols and physician orders.
- The technologist ensures patient safety, quality imaging, accurate documentation, and efficient workflow.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform MRI procedures accurately and efficiently according to established protocols.
- Prepare and position patients for examinations and explain procedures to patients and families.
- Verify patient identity, medical history, requisitions, pregnancy status, consent, and required documentation.
- Follow MRI safety, infection control, and department policies.
- Screen patients and staff for MRI safety requirements before entering the MRI environment.
- Maintain equipment, supplies, and work areas according to quality and safety standards.
- Document and maintain imaging records in the appropriate system.
- Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and other healthcare team members.
- Respond appropriately to emergency situations and provide first aid when required.
- Work independently while maintaining quality, accuracy, and patient-centered care.
- Support training and onboarding of new team members when needed.
- Maintain current knowledge and competencies across applicable patient populations.
- Participate in call coverage if required.
Certifications:
- ARRT (MR), BLS – AHA.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years, including Level I Trauma experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong MRI technical skills and attention to detail.
- Level I Trauma Center experience.
- Excellent patient communication and customer service skills.
- Able to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
- Reliable, team-oriented, and capable of working independently.
- Committed to patient safety, quality care, and efficient workflow.
