Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform routine radiographic, fluoroscopic, and portable examinations in diagnostic radiology, nursing units, outpatient areas, and surgery.
- Take radiographs according to physician orders.
- Operate and maintain familiarity with radiology equipment and printers.
- Protect patients and staff from unnecessary radiation exposure.
- Schedule examinations throughout the department and assist with front-desk operations.
- Use hospital computer systems to access, order, reprint, and cancel exams.
- Coordinate patient transportation through the centralized transport program.
- Report equipment issues to Clinical Engineering and management.
- Assist with on-call staffing as required.
- Communicate important information to coworkers verbally and in writing.
- Assist Radiologic Technology students.
- Support equipment quality assurance, regulatory compliance, supply ordering, staff scheduling, and hospital/departmental audits.
- Maintain appropriate access to patient records for medical imaging operations.
- Interact professionally with other departments.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an ARRT-accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- ARRT certification.
- Valid Ohio Radiologic License.
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Knowledge of isolation and sterile techniques/procedures.
- Proficiency in patient positioning and operation of X-ray equipment and printers.
