Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine radiographic, fluoroscopic, and portable examinations in diagnostic radiology, nursing units, outpatient areas, and surgery.
  • Take radiographs according to physician orders.
  • Operate and maintain familiarity with radiology equipment and printers.
  • Protect patients and staff from unnecessary radiation exposure.
  • Schedule examinations throughout the department and assist with front-desk operations.
  • Use hospital computer systems to access, order, reprint, and cancel exams.
  • Coordinate patient transportation through the centralized transport program.
  • Report equipment issues to Clinical Engineering and management.
  • Assist with on-call staffing as required.
  • Communicate important information to coworkers verbally and in writing.
  • Assist Radiologic Technology students.
  • Support equipment quality assurance, regulatory compliance, supply ordering, staff scheduling, and hospital/departmental audits.
  • Maintain appropriate access to patient records for medical imaging operations.
  • Interact professionally with other departments.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an ARRT-accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • ARRT certification.
  • Valid Ohio Radiologic License.
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of isolation and sterile techniques/procedures.
  • Proficiency in patient positioning and operation of X-ray equipment and printers.
