Job Description

Job Summary:

  • Performs MRI studies under the direction of a Radiologist and oversight of a Senior MRI Technologist. Interacts with imaging staff, nursing, physicians, patients, and visitors.
  • Acts as a resource for MRI technical and related issues while demonstrating competency according to specific guidelines and prescribed protocols.
  • Operates MRI and related equipment, prepares scan room equipment, supplies and medications, maintains patient images and archives associated with patient data, and performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education:

  • Graduate of an JRCERT approved two (2) year or four (4) year of radiologic technology, nuclear medicine program, or MRI program is required.

Required Certifications & Licensure:

  • ARRT and/or ARMRIT Registry is required through JRCERT approved education program.
  • Advanced Certification through ARRT in ARRT-MR is required within 18 months of hire.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) is required.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • IV Insertion, Contrast Injection, Assimilation of New Procedures.
  • Ability and demonstrated competence in IV insertion and contrast injection.
  • Ability to assimilate new procedures into work routine.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience required.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum one (1) year of clinical experience.
  • Clinical student experience may be considered in lieu of one (1) year of current clinical experience.
