MRI Technologist

Job Description

Job Summary:

• The MRI Technologist performs high-quality MRI examinations on inpatient and outpatient populations under the supervision of a Radiologist.
• This role is responsible for delivering accurate diagnostic imaging while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and compliance with established imaging protocols.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform MRI procedures according to physician orders and departmental protocols.
• Prepare, position, and educate patients prior to imaging procedures.
• Verify patient identity, history, consent, and MRI safety screening.
• Maintain image quality and ensure timely completion of examinations.
• Operate MRI equipment safely and troubleshoot basic equipment issues.
• Maintain accurate documentation within the imaging system.
• Follow infection prevention, radiation safety, and MRI safety standards.
• Monitor equipment performance and report operational concerns.
• Maintain exam room cleanliness and inventory of imaging supplies.
• Provide excellent patient care while maintaining professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
• Participate in rotational call coverage as required.

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI program.
• ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT Certification.
• BLS Certification (AHA Only).
• Minimum 2 years of MRI experience.
• Strong knowledge of MRI safety, anatomy, patient positioning, and imaging protocols.
• Excellent communication, patient care, and critical thinking skills.
