Job Description
Job Summary:
- The MRI Technologist performs high-quality MRI examinations on inpatient and outpatient populations under the supervision of a Radiologist.
- This role is responsible for delivering accurate diagnostic imaging while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and compliance with established imaging protocols.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform MRI procedures according to physician orders and departmental protocols.
- Prepare, position, and educate patients prior to imaging procedures.
- Verify patient identity, history, consent, and MRI safety screening.
- Maintain image quality and ensure timely completion of examinations.
- Operate MRI equipment safely and troubleshoot basic equipment issues.
- Maintain accurate documentation within the imaging system.
- Follow infection prevention, radiation safety, and MRI safety standards.
- Monitor equipment performance and report operational concerns.
- Maintain exam room cleanliness and inventory of imaging supplies.
- Provide excellent patient care while maintaining professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
- Participate in rotational call coverage as required.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI program.
- ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT Certification.
- BLS Certification (AHA Only).
- Minimum 2 years of MRI experience.
- Strong knowledge of MRI safety, anatomy, patient positioning, and imaging protocols.
- Excellent communication, patient care, and critical thinking skills.
