Surgical Technician

Job Description

Job Summary:

• Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and Surgical Team, the Surgical Technologist is responsible for preparing and maintaining sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment for surgical procedures.
• Anticipates the needs of the surgical team, assists with patient preparation and transport, and supports a safe and efficient operating room environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain sterile surgical instruments and equipment.
• Assist the surgical team during procedures.
• Anticipate surgeon and team needs throughout surgery.
• Support patient preparation and transport.
• Maintain a clean and organized operating room.
• Respond to emergency situations following established protocols.

Required Education:

• HS Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Education:

• Graduate of CAAHEP accredited Surgical Technology program preferred (not required).

Required Certification & Licensure:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support required.
• Current CST (Certified Surgical Technologist).

Experience:

• Minimum 1 year of recent Surgical Technologist experience.
• Previous travel experience.
