Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide respiratory care for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients under physician direction.
- Perform patient assessments and develop respiratory care plans.
- Respond to Code Blue and Code White emergencies.
- Manage airways, including suctioning and airway device placement and maintenance.
- Administer aerosolized medications.
- Set up, monitor, and manage ventilators.
- Manage BiPAP, CPAP, and oxygen therapy devices.
- Perform oral hygiene and therapeutic monitoring.
- Analyze chest X-rays, EKGs, and arterial blood gases.
- Complete accurate clinical documentation.
- Clean and stock respiratory therapy equipment and supplies.
- Participate in CAP and Joint Commission surveys.
- May serve as Shift Leader or Team Leader.
- Perform advanced respiratory procedures including INO/Heliox therapy, pulmonary function testing, bronchoscopy assistance, hemodynamic monitoring, waveform analysis, nocturnal SpO2 studies, polysomnography, and patient transport as needed.
Requirements:
- 1+ year of Respiratory Therapy experience (1–3 years preferred).
- Active RT or RCP License in the state of employment.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through NBRC.
- BLS certification through AHA.
- Experience caring for adult patients.
Ability to work every other weekend.
No on-call requirement.
Preferences:
- Critical care respiratory therapy experience.
- Leadership experience as Shift Leader or Team Leader.
- Experience with advanced respiratory procedures and patient transport.
