Job Description
Job Summary:
- Performs CT (computed tomography) scans and may assist with general radiology procedures.
- Ensures high-quality imaging, patient safety, and accurate documentation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and educate patients for imaging procedures.
- Review clinical information and perform appropriate CT scans.
- Operate CT equipment to capture accurate diagnostic images.
- Administer IV contrast and monitor patients for reactions.
- Assist radiologists with complex procedures (e.g., biopsies).
- Maintain procedure rooms and ensure supplies are stocked.
- Follow radiation safety standards (ALARA principles).
- Manage imaging records in PACS and RIS systems.
- Ensure accurate documentation for clinical and billing purposes.
- Collaborate with radiologists and care teams.
- Deliver high standards of patient care and customer service.
Education & Certifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- ARRT certification (CT or CT-eligible) required.
- BLS certification required.
- Ongoing continuing education required.
Skills & Requirements:
- Strong communication and patient care skills.
- Team-oriented with flexibility and willingness to learn.
- Knowledge of CT imaging, radiation safety, and hospital systems.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism.
Work Environment:
- Hospital or mobile imaging unit.
- Exposure to radiation and contagious patients (with safety precautions).
- May require lifting patients/equipment.
