Job Summary:
- Perform radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, ensuring high-quality diagnostic imaging while maintaining patient safety and comfort.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients and perform radiographic procedures under provider direction.
- Explain procedures and obtain patient history.
- Position patients and select technical factors for optimal imaging.
- Ensure proper image identification and review studies for accuracy.
- Provide radiation protection following ALARA and safety standards.
- Assist patients throughout exams and ensure patient comfort.
- Perform PACS reconciliation and archive images.
- Document fluoro time and exposure levels.
- Follow EPIC workflow including documentation, medications, and charges.
- Assist with patient transport as needed.
- Collaborate with radiologists and providers for protocol clarification.
- Maintain equipment and report malfunctions.
- Support departmental workflow, scheduling, and efficiency.
- Assist with onboarding, mentoring, and training of staff.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Education:
- Completion of an ARRT-accredited Radiologic Technology program
Preferred Education:
- Additional 1–2 years of college coursework or a healthcare-related degree.
Required Certifications & Licensure:
- ARRT registered RT (R) in diagnostic radiology.
- Current State of Wisconsin Radiographer license.
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS or equivalent.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of current clinical experience or clinical student experience.
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
- Ability to remain flexible and adjust priorities in emergency situations.
- Radiographic and diagnostic imaging procedures.
- Radiation protection and safety (ALARA, OSHA, PPE, hand hygiene).
- Patient positioning and image acquisition.
- Documentation of medical history and imaging data.
- PACS workflow and reconciliation.
- EPIC workflow proficiency from order entry to exam completion.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with radiologists and clinical teams.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- 1 year of clinical experience in diagnostic radiology.
