Job Description

Job Summary:

  • Perform respiratory care and pulmonary diagnostic procedures for patients with cardiopulmonary conditions in accordance with hospital and departmental policies

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide therapeutic treatments and diagnostic testing using medical gases, equipment, humidification, and aerosols.
  • Administer medications to the cardiopulmonary system.
  • Provide ventilatory support and manage life support systems.
  • Perform bronClientulmonary clearance and breathing exercises.
  • Educate patients and perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
  • Maintain natural and artificial airways.
  • Deliver care in both critical and non-critical care settings across all patient age groups.
  • Follow organizational mission, vision, and values.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Education:

  • Associate Degree from a CoARC accredited Respiratory Care program.

Preferred Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Care.

Required Certifications & Licensure:

  • Current State of Wisconsin License as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP).
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from NBRC.
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • NRP

Preferred Certifications & Licensure:

  • American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) membership.
  • Wisconsin Society for Respiratory Care (WSRC) membership.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year of worked or educational clinical experience in both general and critical care.
  • Respiratory care and pulmonary diagnostic procedures.
  • Therapeutic treatment and diagnostic testing using medical gases and equipment.
  • Medication administration to the cardiopulmonary system.
  • Ventilatory support and life support systems management.
  • BronClientulmonary clearance and breathing exercises.
  • Patient education and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
  • Maintenance of natural and artificial airways.
  • Experience in both critical care and non-critical care settings.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • 2+ years of hospital respiratory care experience.
