Certified Surgical Technologist (Travel)

Job Description

Job Summary:

• Present within the operating room to provide assistance to surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists.
• Hands necessary instruments to the surgeon, anticipating needs to ensure efficient procedures.
• Monitors certain equipment, including machinery related to vital signs.
• Sets up and maintains the surgical field, collaborating with nurses and doctors, assisting where required.
• Assembles, transports, and retrieves surgical equipment, ensuring all pieces leave the room.
• Keeps all needed surgical equipment at the ready, including sterile linens, saline, lights, suction machines, etc.
• Inspects, maintains, decontaminates, and repairs surgical equipment, keeping inventory records updated.
• Conducts pre- and post-surgery patient care, including shaving, transporting, and applying dressings.

Facility Requirements:

• NBSTSA certification.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• 2 years recent experience; General surgery, DaVinci preferred, robotic knee replacement, trauma, and Neuro.
