Job Description

Job Summary:

  • Performs diagnostic and interventional procedures as requested by physicians.
  • Provides care for patients while obtaining diagnostic quality images for interpretation by a Radiologist/ Cardiologist.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduation from accredited radiologic technology program.

Certification and Licenses:

  • ARRT and New Mexico State licensure required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • ACLS certification required.
  • Certification issued by ARRT applicable to cardiac or vascular intervention (CV, CI or VI), or RCIS Certification.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Thorough knowledge of associated radiographic equipment, neurological and cardiovascular anatomy and physiology, radiographic positioning, medical terminology and basic computer skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of interventional procedures in Cardiology and Radiology preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Bloodborne pathogen – C
  • Exposure to various body fluids and ionizing radiation.
  • Works in a clean, well-lighted, ventilated smoke-free environment.
  • Subject to stressful professional relationships.
  • Working hours are varied, with flexibility due to unexpected changes in schedule and emergencies.
  • Lifts, positions, pushes and/or transfers patients and equipment in excess of 50 lbs.
