Job Description
Job Summary:
- Performs diagnostic and interventional procedures as requested by physicians.
- Provides care for patients while obtaining diagnostic quality images for interpretation by a Radiologist/ Cardiologist.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduation from accredited radiologic technology program.
Certification and Licenses:
- ARRT and New Mexico State licensure required.
- BLS certification required.
- ACLS certification required.
- Certification issued by ARRT applicable to cardiac or vascular intervention (CV, CI or VI), or RCIS Certification.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Thorough knowledge of associated radiographic equipment, neurological and cardiovascular anatomy and physiology, radiographic positioning, medical terminology and basic computer skills.
- Thorough knowledge of interventional procedures in Cardiology and Radiology preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Bloodborne pathogen – C
- Exposure to various body fluids and ionizing radiation.
- Works in a clean, well-lighted, ventilated smoke-free environment.
- Subject to stressful professional relationships.
- Working hours are varied, with flexibility due to unexpected changes in schedule and emergencies.
- Lifts, positions, pushes and/or transfers patients and equipment in excess of 50 lbs.
