Job Description
Job Summary:
- Under general supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, delivers life-support, resuscitation, monitoring, and various medical gases therapy to patients.
- Performs invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures for Intensive Care and General Practice Unit patients.
- Maintains clinical expertise for departmental assignments at various business units throughout, as assigned.
- Communicates effectively with patients, co-workers, physicians, and other system employees as needed regarding patient care needs.
- Adequately documents all aspects of patient care.
- Supervises, directs, and delegates to Respiratory Therapists, respiratory orients, externs, and students, as assigned.
- Completes necessary and accurate patient billing information.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Two years of recent Respiratory Therapist experience.
Education Required:
- Associate of Science Degree from an accredited Respiratory Therapist program.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s in Respiratory Therapy.
Certifications & Licenses Required:
- Registration with the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- Current Respiratory Therapist license in the State of Michigan.
- BLS Certification (AHA).
Additional Notes:
- Candidates with neonatal intensive care experience are a plus but not required.
- Candidates with experience in a Trauma Level 2 facility are a plus but not required.
- Overtime billed after 48 hours.
