MRI Technologist

Job Description

Job Summary:

• Under the supervision of a Radiologist, the MRI Technologist performs MRI procedures on ambulatory and inpatient populations according to physician orders and established protocols.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform high-quality MRI procedures following exam protocols.
• Verify patient identity, review history, and ensure correct imaging studies.
• Prepare and position patients appropriately for MRI procedures.
• Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding procedures.
• Adhere to MRI safety, infection control, and hospital policies.
• Maintain imaging equipment and report any operational issues.
• Accurately document imaging studies in PACS/EMR systems.
• Screen all individuals prior to entering MRI zones.

Required Certifications:

• MRT.
• ARRT (MR).
• BLS (AHA Only).

Experience Required:

• Minimum 1 year experience in an Acute Care Hospital.
• Experience with Trauma, Stroke, and Anesthesia cases preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to perform MRI procedures independently.
• Strong knowledge of MRI safety and protocols.
• Effective patient communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced acute care environment.
• Commitment to quality imaging and patient care.
