Job Description
Job Summary:
- Under the supervision of a Radiologist, the MRI Technologist performs MRI procedures on ambulatory and inpatient populations according to physician orders and established protocols.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality MRI procedures following exam protocols.
- Verify patient identity, review history, and ensure correct imaging studies.
- Prepare and position patients appropriately for MRI procedures.
- Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding procedures.
- Adhere to MRI safety, infection control, and hospital policies.
- Maintain imaging equipment and report any operational issues.
- Accurately document imaging studies in PACS/EMR systems.
- Screen all individuals prior to entering MRI zones.
Required Certifications:
- MRT.
- ARRT (MR).
- BLS (AHA Only).
Experience Required:
- Minimum 1 year experience in an Acute Care Hospital.
- Experience with Trauma, Stroke, and Anesthesia cases preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to perform MRI procedures independently.
- Strong knowledge of MRI safety and protocols.
- Effective patient communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced acute care environment.
- Commitment to quality imaging and patient care.
