Job Summary:
- Under the direction of a Radiologist, performs radiologic imaging procedures to evaluate pathological conditions as ordered by a physician.
- Utilizes independent judgment to determine appropriate imaging techniques, patient positioning, and radiation safety practices in accordance with department protocols.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Explain examination procedures and prepare patients for imaging.
- Review clinical data and obtain additional patient history as needed.
- Prepare procedure rooms and maintain supply inventory.
- Analyze anatomy, position patients, and operate imaging equipment.
- Perform imaging procedures and ensure diagnostic image quality.
- Administer IV contrast media when required and monitor patients for reactions.
- Apply radiation safety and ALARA principles.
- Prepare and maintain sterile equipment and follow infection control protocols.
- Ensure patient safety, comfort, privacy, and confidentiality.
- Complete all documentation, logs, worksheets, and patient records.
- Educate and train students or new hires when required.
- PACS: Resolve image exceptions and ensure accurate image delivery.
- RIS: Complete study indexing (study start, end, and completion).
- Confirm clinical protocols with Radiologist prior to procedures.
- Demonstrate teamwork, communication, professionalism, and customer service standards.
- Complete documentation to support clinical and billing functions.
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Ongoing continuing education required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience required.
- Level I or II Trauma experience required.
- OR experience required.
Certifications & Licensure:.
- ARRT Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) required.
- Registry eligible candidates must obtain ARRT within 6 months.
- BCLS (Healthcare Provider) required.
Technology:
- Carestream.
- OEC C-Arms.

- Interview Duration: 15 minutes.
- Interview Panel: Manager, Supervisor, possible Lead Tech.
