Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

• The Counselor provides treatment and support to assist patients in their recovery from addictions, such as alcoholism, drug addiction, eating disorders, or other behavioral problems.
• Assists with modifying problem behaviors.
• May also provide counseling services to families of clients.

Department Details:

• Inpatient substance abuse treatment facility for 18+ ages.
• Must be able to do CIWA/COWS, UAs and be able to set/hold firm empathic boundaries.

Beds:

• 50 (20 female/30 male).

Nurse/Patient ratio:

• 1 nurse on night shift.
• For the 7p-11p of the shift there are 2-3 BHA (techs) on shift.
• 11p-7 there is 1 tech on shift.

EMR:

• HCS – electronic.

Patient and Facility Details:

• Voluntary patients, no restraints, Admin on call and Doctor on call at all times, no on-site security.
• Visiting hours are Sundays 1-4p.
• Orientation is 2-3 days of 12 hour shifts training until comfortable.

Licensure and Disciplines:

• The disciplines we can accept are LMSW, LICSW, LCMHC, LMFT, MLADC, LADC, LPC.
• Open to Out of state licensure as long as the can practice in Iowa.
• Must have valid CADC, ICADC or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Required Experience:

• 2+ year professional working with patients in a recovery setting.
