Job Description

Job Summary:

  • Assists with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a Physician or Advanced Practice Provider.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with treatments as ordered by the provider and supervised by the provider or a registered nurse.
  • Perform select clinical duties.
  • Interview patients, measure vital signs, and document patient information in medical charts.
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations.
  • Perform basic clerical duties, including answering phones, maintaining records, and filing.
  • Manage supplies by ordering, stocking, and maintaining inventory.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.
  • Document provider-patient encounters, including diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions as directed.
  • Transcribe patient orders, including laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • ​​​​​​​One (1) year of applicable cumulative, job-specific experience.

Licensure / Certification:

  • BLS Provider certification (American Heart Association).
  • Medical Assistant certification (any issuing authority accepted).

Skills & Work Complexity:

  • Requires critical thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to function effectively in a fast-paced, stressful environment.
  • Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Follows Standard Precautions and uses appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
