Job Description
Job Summary:
- The Registered Respiratory Therapist provides advanced cardiopulmonary care to patients, utilizing evidence-based therapies and techniques to optimize respiratory outcomes.
- This role involves delivering high-quality respiratory treatments, monitoring patient response, and collaborating with physicians and care teams in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administer respiratory therapies including oxygen, aerosol, ventilation (invasive & non-invasive), and bedside spirometry.
- Review physician orders and patient diagnostics to determine appropriate care.
- Monitor and document patient response to treatments.
- Educate patients on respiratory equipment use.
- Respond to emergencies, including CPR.
- Maintain compliance with infection control, HIPAA, and hospital policies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- Active RRT certification.
- BLS (AHA only).
- Texas Medical Board (TMB) license.
- Minimum 1 year of experience.
- Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and basic computer systems.
