Job Description

Job Summary:

• The Registered Respiratory Therapist provides advanced cardiopulmonary care to patients, utilizing evidence-based therapies and techniques to optimize respiratory outcomes.
• This role involves delivering high-quality respiratory treatments, monitoring patient response, and collaborating with physicians and care teams in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Administer respiratory therapies including oxygen, aerosol, ventilation (invasive & non-invasive), and bedside spirometry.
• Review physician orders and patient diagnostics to determine appropriate care.
• Monitor and document patient response to treatments.
• Educate patients on respiratory equipment use.
• Respond to emergencies, including CPR.
• Maintain compliance with infection control, HIPAA, and hospital policies.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

• Active RRT certification.
• BLS (AHA only).
• Texas Medical Board (TMB) license.
• Minimum 1 year of experience.
• Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and basic computer systems.
