Job Description
Job Summary:
- The Radiologic Technologist, under the general supervision of a Radiologist, performs diagnostic radiology procedures on ambulatory and hospitalized patients in accordance with established protocols to assist in the diagnosis of disease and injury.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality radiologic exams efficiently and according to protocol.
- Ensure accurate patient identification and correct exam performance.
- Maintain imaging quality standards and productivity benchmarks.
- Apply radiation safety principles, including dose monitoring and documentation.
- Communicate clearly with patients using AIDET to explain procedures and ease concerns.
- Prepare and position patients; adjust equipment and exposure factors as needed.
- Follow infection control, safety, and radiation protection policies.
- Maintain equipment functionality and department cleanliness.
- Assist with supply inventory and report equipment issues.
- Screen individuals for department safety compliance.
- Maintain complete and accurate patient documentation.
- Enter and manage imaging records in the designated medical imaging system.
Certification & Requirements:
- ARRT RT(R) – Required.
- Texas Medical Board (TMB) – Required.
- BLS (AHA only) – Required.
- Minimum 2 years of Radiology Tech experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to perform exams independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong patient communication and customer service skills.
- Calm, professional demeanor in high-pressure situations.
- Commitment to accuracy, efficiency, and patient safety.
- Ability to work with all age groups: newborn to geriatric.
- Willingness to serve as a preceptor or assist in training when needed.
- Ability to take call if required.
