Job Description
Job Summary:
- Under the general supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, the Respiratory Therapist delivers life-support, resuscitation, monitoring, and various medical gas therapies to patients.
- Responsibilities include performing invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures for patients in both Intensive Care and General Practice Units.
- The therapist maintains clinical expertise for departmental assignments across various business units, communicates effectively with all members of the care team, and documents all aspects of patient care accurately.
- Additional duties include supervising, directing, and delegating tasks to Respiratory Therapists, orientees, externs, and students, as assigned.
- Ensures completion of necessary and accurate patient billing information.
Education Required:
- Associate of Science Degree from an accredited Respiratory Therapist program
Education Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
Required Certification & Licensure
- Registration with the National Board of Respiratory Care.
- Current Michigan Respiratory Therapist License.
- BLS Certification.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of two years of recent Respiratory Therapist experience.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
