Job Summary:
- The Speech Language Pathologist provides evaluation and treatment to patients within an acute care environment.
- This role requires strong clinical skills to manage medically complex cases and deliver safe, effective speech, language, swallowing, and cognitive therapy services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat communication, swallowing, and speech disorders.
- Manage care for medically complex patients in an acute care setting.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Perform dysphagia assessments and interventions.
- Document all clinical care accurately and in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members.
- Educate patients and families on treatment goals and techniques.
- Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and regulatory standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Licensure:
- Valid license as a Speech Language Pathologist issued by NYSED (Primary Source Verification required)
- BLS preferred.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 2 years acute care experience.
- Experience working with medically complex cases.
- Dysphagia training.
- 1 year Speech Clinician experience.
Interview:
- First interview: 10–15 minute phone screen.
- Second interview: in-person.
