Job Summary:
- The role of the Clinical Pharmacist in the Pharmacy Advisor team, a specially developed, clinical program for Client, is to provide support to targeted members by reaching out directly to provider offices.
- Through the use of sophisticated modeling and systems, we are able to identify members who meet the desired opportunity criteria.
- Outbound calls are made directly to providers.
- The focus of the discussion is to provide education on new Medicare standards and how that affects their patients.
- In addition to working directly with the providers, the Pharmacy Advisor Clinical Pharmacist works very closely with other Pharmacy Advisor staff, as well as other Client departments, to address patient issues.
- The Pharmacists will utilize their skill sets as key drivers to positively impact patient health outcomes.
- The Pharmacy Advisor Clinical Pharmacist will have the ability to work in a highly charged, fast paced call center as well as participate in the further development and refinement of work systems, tools, processes, and procedures.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work in a fast paced production environment; able to work with people in a team environment; meet individual performance goals.
- Colleague will be required to work mandatory overtime when needed.
- Pharmacy Advisor is a specially developed, clinical program for Client.
- It provides a significant opportunity for all involved to be a part of an exciting, clinical program for Client.
- The Pharmacy Advisor operations team will have a direct impact on the health and outcomes for patients.
- Pharmacists and Technicians will receive messaging at critical points in care that can be instrumental in driving optimal health outcomes.
- The team will work together to demonstrate the true value that Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians can have to their patients.
- Interface via telephone with patient providers and pharmacies to resolve medication related issues – 90%.
- Provides telephonic counseling, education, and support to patients in regards to medication therapy & regimens – 5%.
- Other responsibilities as directed by supervisor and/or manager – 5%.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy or Pharm D.
Required Experience:
- 1+ years in Retail, LTC, Hospital or PBM pharmacy experience, or other pharmacist-to-provider consultation experience.
Preferred Experience:
- Pharmacy knowledge, drug utilization review, excellent consultation skills with providers, strong customer service skills.
- PC literate, solid writing skills, knowledge of pharmacy laws, and accurate clinical information.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to learn new operating systems and new communication strategies.
- Must be flexible, organized and have a passion for working directly with patients.
