Job Description

Job Summary:

  • The Radiologic Technologist, under the general supervision of a Radiologist, performs diagnostic imaging procedures on ambulatory and hospitalized patients as requested by a licensed provider.
  • The technologist ensures high-quality imaging, patient safety, and compliance with departmental protocols to support accurate diagnosis and treatment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform high-quality radiology procedures according to established exam protocols in a timely manner.
  • Maintain production and quality standards by following established imaging policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of radiation dose reference levels, monitoring, and appropriate actions for dose management.
  • Utilize AIDET principles when communicating with patients to ensure excellent service and accurate exam performance.
  • Explain procedures and provide clear instructions to patients and families.
  • Prepare patients and exam areas, position patients properly, and adjust equipment to obtain optimal imaging results.
  • Adhere to all safety, infection control, and radiation protection protocols.
  • Maintain equipment and work areas to meet quality and cleanliness standards.
  • Assist with equipment troubleshooting and communicate issues to management or appropriate departments.
  • Monitor and maintain supplies inventory and report needs to supervisors.
  • Verify and maintain accurate documentation, including patient histories, requisitions, pregnancy checks, and consent forms.
  • Maintain imaging records and ensure timely submission for interpretation.

Education & Experience:

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Radiologic Technology experience.

Required Certifications:

  • BLS (AHA Only).
  • ARRT RT(R) – Registered Technologist, Radiography.
  • Texas Medical Board (TMB) License.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to put patients at ease.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
  • Knowledge of proper first aid and emergency response procedures.
  • Commitment to customer satisfaction and professional conduct.
  • Willingness to mentor and train new team members as needed.
  • Availability to take call if required.
