Job Description
Job Summary:
- Under general supervision, performs advanced professional radiographic and fluoroscopic imaging.
- May circulate to other diagnostic areas such as surgery, trauma, or pediatrics.
- Recognized as an expert in the field or participates in training programs to enhance skills in other specialized radiology modalities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate standard and portable radiology equipment for radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations, including IV pyelography, cystography, gastrointestinal series, and body section radiography.
- Assist physicians during specialized imaging procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment or film output issues.
- Serve as a resource and preceptor for other Radiographers and students.
- Participate in training programs to develop skills in CT, MRI, or Special Procedures.
- Maintain accurate records, inventory, and equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements:
- Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited program in a cardiovascular specialty.
- Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited radiologic technology program.
- Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
Certifications & Licenses:
- Current credentials required upon hire/advancement from ARDMS, ARRT, and/or CCI in the relevant specialty.
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS).
Required Skills & Experience:
- Knowledge of diagnostic radiography techniques and equipment operation/maintenance.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and assess/treat patients of all ages.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of explaining procedures to patients and families clearly.
- Computer proficiency.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Minimum one year full-time experience as a certified or registered cardiovascular or radiologic technology professional in the specialty relevant to the department.
